NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro police are investigating a shooting that resulted in a 16-year-old boy being killed at an apartment complex along Dickerson Pike.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the department’s Homicide and Specialized Investigations detectives are working active leads related to the shooting.
Police said the shooting happened in a breezeway of Preserve at Highland Ridge along the 3400 block of Dickerson Pike. It was reported just after 7 p.m.
The reason for the shooting is under investigation, officials said, and efforts are underway to notify the boy’s family.
