It’s no surprise that Jamal Rule has impressed Nebraska fans, coaches, and plenty of onlookers outside the program. What has impressed offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen the most is how much more comfortable the true freshman has looked since he first arrived on campus.
“I remember when he first got here last January, he was a very nervous, anxious kid and settled in throughout the course of spring and started playing better,” Holgorsen said during his Tuesday press conference. “Then when he came back in the summer, he was back to being kind of a nervous, anxious kid.”
Holgorsen added that because he looked like a true freshman who was scared to be on campus and always walked around with wide eyes, the Nebraska coaches weren’t sure what they could get from Jamal Rule in 2026. And then Rule took the field in Week 1 and showed he could be an electric player…
