NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Next week brings another cold front that’ll trigger rain and storms.
Until recently, it’s been a tremendously hot September. We’re finally having a chance to enjoy that long-awaited cooldown that so many of us hoped for. Rain is all we’re missing to make this weather transformation complete. At last, beneficial rain for most, if not all of us, is on the way.
While eastern Middle Tennessee has received quite a bit of rain in spots over the last week, most areas haven’t. Nashville International Airport, for example, has only picked up a trace of rain through all of September. That means a few drops have fallen from the sky there, but not enough to be measured.
Thursday will bring a few patches of mist and drizzle, and possibly a few sprinkles to our area. Nashville’s rain chance is 20%. It’s 30% along the Cumberland Plateau. Any rain that falls on Thursday, however, won’t do anything other than dot the windshield. It certainly won’t be enough to help replenish ground moisture in our recent record heat.
All that said, we do foresee changes coming…
