SALEM, Va. (WFXR)- Two employees of Salem Fire-EMS are no longer employed with the department following an off-duty incident on Interstate 81.
According to city officials, Salem Fire-EMS was made aware of the incident on Sunday, September 19. Officials did not disclose additional details surrounding the incident, including what allegedly occurred.
Both employees were placed on administrative leave Sunday pending an internal investigation. As of Tuesday, both individuals were no longer employed with the department.

“Because this is an ongoing personnel matter, the department cannot provide further details about this off-duty incident,” city officials wrote in a press release. “The Salem Fire-EMS Department remains committed to accountability and maintaining the trust of the community it serves.”…
