HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — Soaring prices for fuel at the pump are squeezing industries, including farmers in the Piedmont Triad.
Rhonda Ingram and her family operate their farm along Riverdale Drive in High Point. The generational family farm takes pride in the quality of their produce that takes several steps and long hours on the farm.
“That tractor is going to roughly hold 10 gallons or more of fuel,” Ingram said. “Right now, … that means $60. And that’s just to put it in there. That’s not going to run for days and days. That’s going to run when you’re doing … one task.”
