A Summerfield man on probation was arrested with marijuana and THC wax during a traffic stop at a McDonald’s near The Villages.
A deputy observed a white 2009 Honda Accord traveling eastbound on State Road 44 in Wildwood around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A check of the tag revealed the registered owner, 37-year-old Colin James Trimborn, had an invalid driver’s license.
It had been revoked for one year, starting on Dec. 3, 2025, for DUI. There was another suspension on Aug. 17 for financial responsibility, the report said.
Seeing this, the deputy stopped Trimborn at the McDonald’s on Signature Drive, across from Brownwood in The Villages. The deputy could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle while they spoke, but Trimborn denied having any with him. He also claimed to have a medical marijuana license.
