An Augusta man received his sentence this week for two violent attacks on women in Massachusetts.
Augusta, Maine Man Sentenced in Massachusetts for Brutal Attacks on Women
Roger Bolens, of Augusta, Maine, pleaded guilty to a dozen charges, including armed assault to murder.
According to the Essex County, Massachusetts District Attorney’s Office, the charges stem from two incidents that occurred over the weekend of July 26-27, 2025.

In the first incident, Bolens tried to strangle a 19-year-old woman in the restroom of a restaurant in Andover, Massachusetts.
Officials say it was hours later when he broke into an Andover home and strangled and assaulted a woman in her 70s while she was sleeping.
