Eager shoppers were met with a parade of employees cheering them on as they entered Sam’s Club in Lathrop for the first time Wednesday evening.
The warehouse celebrated its soft opening Sept. 23 with more product samples than a person could carry, discounts on memberships and enough energy to power a small city. At the grand opening the next day, Sam’s Club gave over $30,000 to the Lathrop chapter of Toys for Tots, the Boys & Girls Club of Manteca and Lathrop and to Second Harvest of the Greater Valley.
“One of the biggest investments in the Lathrop club is our expanded fresh department,” said Katelynn Gorton, a spokesperson for Sam’s Club. “The fresh islands are about one-third larger than what you’ll find in the average Sam‘s Club, allowing us to offer an even broader assortment across meat, seafood, deli and prepared foods.”…
