LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Fayette County Public Schools plans to sell eight properties as it looks to balance its budget, including one that houses the Lexington Women’s Club.
The club, which has clothed schoolchildren for nearly three years at the old Henry Clay High School location, has been told to vacate the property.
Club has provided clothing since 1948
The Lexington Women’s Club was founded in 1948 and started in an oversized closet on Ashland Avenue. It has grown to clothe between 12 and 1,400 students every year.
