NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Vanderbilt Commodores barely made it out of nonconference play undefeated and will now head to Auburn to open Southeastern Conference play on Saturday.
Last week, Vanderbilt (3-0, 0-0 SEC) pulled off an improbable win over North Carolina State before entering the first of its nine-game conference schedule. Meanwhile, the Auburn Tigers (2-1, 0-1 SEC) fell at home in their SEC opener to Florida, 44-39.
Vanderbilt quarterback Jared Curtis is coming off his first win as a starter, and now he enters another big test with his first SEC road start at Jordan-Hare Stadium, one of college football’s most hostile environments.

“He signed up for this. He signed up for these road challenges,” Vanderbilt head coach Clark Lea said of Curtis on Thursday. “We’ve put him in, since Sunday, he’s been operating in noise. I do think the stadium will be different. There’s only so much you can do to simulate, but I trust him. I trust him; I trust his instincts. He’s building that chemistry with the offense… It will be a test and challenge, and I know that it won’t be perfect, but we have his back.”…
