NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A Moncks Corner man and convicted felon faces multiple weapons and traffic charges after officers found three guns and ammunition during a late-night traffic stop Thursday, police said.
David Aquino-Santiago, 22, was charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, driving under suspension (third offense or more), reckless driving, and being a habitual traffic offender.
According to North Charleston Police, an officer initiated the stop around 11:55 p.m. near Ashley Phosphate and Plantation roads after watching a vehicle leave a Speedway gas station, travel on the wrong side of the road, and cross a raised concrete median at a high rate of speed.
The officer recognized Aquino-Santiago from a prior traffic stop, and Aquino-Santiago confirmed his driver’s license was still suspended, investigators said…
