BIG BEND, Wis. (WFRV) – A three-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck forced a two-hour closure of I-43 in Waukesha County on Friday evening, injuring three.
According to the Big Bend Fire Department, on September 25, around 5:15 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to southbound I-43 at State Highway 164 following reports of a collision within an active construction zone.

Firefighters arrived to find a semi-truck and two passenger vehicles involved, completely blocking all lanes of traffic.
One person was trapped inside their vehicle, and emergency personnel performed a mechanical extrication to rescue them; that individual was then transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
Two other involved people were evaluated and released at the scene.
