HONOLULU (KHON2) — More than two years after becoming a state agency, the Department of Law Enforcement is expanding further.
The DLE welcomed 18 new deputy sheriffs in its largest graduation ceremony to date on Sept. 25.

State law enforcement officials said the recruits completed a rigorous six-month training program that included classroom instruction, on-the-job training, firearms operations, physical conditioning and education in law enforcement procedures and regulations.
