They’re leading in the polls, but the Democratic nominees for governor, Amy Acton, M.D., and for the U.S. Senate, Sherrod Brown, need to be on the lookout for October surprises courtesy of their respective foes, Vivek Ramaswamy and Sen. Jon Husted.
That’s because, when trailing in the polls — as are Republicans Ramaswamy and appointed Sen. Husted, both of Upper Arlington — there’s no reason not to throw everything, including the kitchen sink, at the candidates who are ahead — as Democrats Acton and Brown, both of Bexley, are at this writing.
Little wonder. Acton and Brown have been masters of retail politicking, canvassing Ohio like two whirlwinds. Brown’s always been that way, and Acton is obviously a quick study. If there’s any Ohio population center Acton and Brown haven’t gotten to, stick around – they likely will turn up before Election Day (Nov. 3, with early voting starting on Oct. 6)…
