Last month, officials with Cape Fear Valley Medical Center moved the entrance to the Emergency Department to direct access off Village Drive, near Owen Drive, as part of major plans to expand the department.
Construction has begun and is expected to wrap up in 2028. The ED additions would include more staff, more beds, a new pediatric ED, new operating rooms, more support areas and space for more expansion later.
