Art This Way celebrates 10 years recognizing Fort Wayne creatives
INDIANAPOLIS — Fort Wayne’s public art program is bringing 10 years of creative transformation to the streets with a free festival that will close a major downtown artery and showcase the vibrant culture that has reshaped Indiana’s second-largest city.
Art This Way, which operates under the Fort Wayne Downtown Improvement District, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a two-day festival featuring live music, a fine art fair, street performances, and muralists creating works in real time. The celebration marks a decade of bringing large-scale murals, sculptures, and cultural events to downtown Fort Wayne.
“When we first started, it was just a few murals here and there,” said Alex Hall, director of Art This Way, in an interview with News 8’s Cody Adams. “It was kind of, let’s see if Fort Wayne will embrace this, and ultimately they have.”
