MARIETTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A Cobb County Sheriff’s Office deputy is expected to return to work soon after suffering serious injuries when he was attacked by a detainee at the Cobb County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office.
The deputy was helping transport a murder suspect at the jail on Sept. 25 when the attack occurred, Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Communications Specialist Randi Okray said.
The deputy suffered a concussion and a broken jaw and was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment. He has since been released from the hospital and could return to work as early as Friday, one week after the incident…
