ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation is considering closing six of its eight branch locations across Western and Central New York, including three in the Rochester area, as traditional betting locations continue to lose money.
WROTBC’s Board of Directors has indicated it intends to move forward with a consolidation plan that would leave only two branches open: the Marway location in Gates and the Wehrle location in Williamsville.
The Empire branch in Penfield and Lyell branch in Rochester would be among those closing, along with locations in Auburn, Cheektowaga, Jamestown and North Tonawanda. The closures are proposed for around Oct. 31…
