NEW BERLIN, Wis. — The New Berlin Common Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday to discuss a citizen petition seeking the removal of Mayor Dave Ament from office.
The petition was filed with the city clerk on September 15 and asks the Common Council to determine whether there is cause to remove Ament.
The filing cites Ament’s previous social media activity on his personal Facebook page that included anti-Muslim posts. It also alleges violations of Wisconsin’s Open Meetings Law and the U.S. Constitution related to the approval process for a Milwaukee Rescue Mission facility…
