FORT BRAGG, N.C. (WNCN) — Fort Bragg soldiers now have a new place to grab a meal, and it looks a lot less like a traditional Army chow hall.
The Army officially opened the Rally Point Bistro Tuesday, Fort Bragg’s first campus-style dining venue. The new facility transforms a traditional military dining hall into a restaurant-style experience with multiple food stations, made-to-order meals, shakes, and a rotating menu featuring more than 3,000 recipes. Soldiers can also choose fresh fruits and vegetables grown locally each day.
“I think this facility is amazing. It’s the first of its kind here on Fort Bragg,” Army Sgt. 1st Class Jermone Fisher said.
Army dietitians work with chefs to develop menu options designed to give soldiers the fuel they need to train, recover, and stay ready. The facility also gives soldiers more flexibility with what they eat. The Army uses a $39 daily “Freedom Dollar” meal entitlement system for eligible meal-card-holding soldiers.
