Already enjoying a great sense of community and place in their home at 7220 S. Yale Ave., the residents at Aberdeen Heights Assisted Living were recently treated to a major campus-wide renovation.
“We try to be the best at what we do,” says Cameron Gruenberg, divisional director of sales and marketing for Aberdeen Heights. The facility’s overhaul included upgrades to many of the apartments that were designed to enhance independence, and campus common areas received new furniture and updates as well, improving the overall resident experience and keeping up with the competition.
The spacious apartments already had plenty of closet space and storage, but the updated units now also feature new flooring, fresh paint and lower thresholds that make showers safer with easier ins and outs. Kitchenettes were extended by five feet to accommodate additional cabinets, more counterspace (enough to fit a microwave oven) and full-size refrigerators.
“Even though we provide the meals, residents like to have snacks or small meals in their apartments,” Gruenberg says. “Now they have a place to keep their ice cream.”
Outside, siding, parking lots, sidewalks and gathering spaces were refurbished. New patio furniture, raised beds for gardening and a water feature updated the facility’s two courtyards…
