Nurse accused of helping immigrant escape ICE custody at Ann Arbor hospital

DETROIT – An Ann Arbor-area nurse is facing a federal charge after she allegedly helped a Mexican immigrant escape custody at the hospital after being injured during an arrest.

The criminal complaint against Chloe Freeman, 33, from Whitmore Lake, was unsealed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan on Sept. 29.

The federal government claims Freeman “knowingly and willfully” helped the man, who is not named, evade federal custody. She is accused of swiping her badge and escorting him out the ambulance bay doors of Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital in the middle of the night…
