A charity event where people can climb down the side of a nine-story Worcester building is returning for its fifth year.
Participants in the event, known as Over The Edge for Canines for Disabled Kids, will rappel down one of the two Mercantile Center buildings in downtown Worcester. Rappel climbing is a technique where climbers descend a steep cliff using a rope. The Mercantile Center building climbers will rappel down is at 120 Front St. The height of the climb down the nine-story building is 110 feet, the fundraising website reads.
The climb, which will take place on Nov. 14, is part of an annual charity event hosted by Canines for Disabled Kids, a Worcester non-profit that helps children with disabilities and adults by promoting service dog partnerships, understanding and awareness, according to the website.
