Case against man charged in Tasia Fortune’s death sent to grand jury

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A preliminary hearing for one of the men charged in connection to the death of Tasia Fortune continued on September 30, 2026.

The judge found there was probable cause in the case involving Jarques Ratliff. The case was bound over to a grand jury.

Fortune’s body was found hanging from a tree behind a vacant home on the Road of Remembrance on August 3, 2026. The State Medical Examiner ruled the manner of death a homicide, but Fortune’s cause of death has not been disclosed…
