Harvest Fest Returns to Little Village Detroit for an Afternoon of Fall Fun

Fall is the perfect time to explore Detroit, and Harvest Fest is returning to Little Village for an afternoon filled with pumpkins, art, music, skating and family-friendly fun.

On Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 12PM to 4PM, families are invited to the grounds of the Shepherd in Detroit’s East Village for Harvest Fest at Little Village. It’s a perfect time to explore the surrounding Little Village campus, from its public art and green spaces to the It Takes a Village Skatepark and family-friendly food options.

Harvest Fest at Little Village

Harvest Fest will feature plenty of classic fall fun, with pumpkins, free s’mores, cider and donuts waiting for families to enjoy. Kids can also participate in craft activities with the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum and Erin Wakeland Studio, while the children’s reading nook from In Thicket Books offers a quieter activity for little ones. The afternoon will also include:

  • FREE Live music from The Carr Center
  • FREE Children’s reading nook from In Thicket Books
  • FREE Dance performance by Detroit Metropolitan Dance

  • Cold Truth ice cream truck

The Shepherd itself is a beautifully transformed historic church that now serves as a cultural arts center. Its grounds include more than 3.5 acres of publicly accessible green space, including the Charles McGee Legacy Park, outdoor art and gathering spaces.

It Takes a Village Skatepark was designed by professional skateboarder Tony Hawk and artist McArthur Binion. The public skatepark combines skateboarding with art and community and is open daily from sunrise to sunset…
