Buying an electric vehicle can pay off in lower fuel and maintenance bills, but the upfront price is still enough to keep many drivers from switching.
In California’s San Joaquin Valley, a rebate program is trying to lower that upfront hurdle, with more than $1.67 million still available in the form of individual incentives worth up to $3,000.
