$98,000 Medicaid fraud settlement reached with Burlington nursing home over fake nurse

BURLINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson announced a nearly $100,000 Medicaid fraud settlement with a Triad nursing home on Thursday.

Allegedly, White Oak Manor of Burlington hired a “fake nurse” and then billed Medicaid for services she provided.

The unqualified “fake nurse” was hired without a nursing license, training or experience and worked 54 shifts over three months and interacted with residents despite not being qualified to do so, according to the attorney general’s office. The facility then billed Medicaid for services provided to residents, including services provided by the “fake nurse.”
