DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Over the past few weeks, the Dayton area has seen several violent incidents involving teens, and over the course of the year, more than 150 juveniles have been arrested with a firearm in their possession.
According to the Dayton Police Department, it has noticed a trend when it comes to teens being involved with guns, as well as violence in general, and it hopes the community will step up to curb these numbers.
From January to Sept. 30, a total of 160 juveniles were arrested with firearms. To put that into perspective, the highest total in the past seven years was in 2024, when during that same period, 176 juveniles were arrested with guns.
