The Regional Transportation District is betting on electric scooters to help increase use of public transit.
Starting Thursday, Oct. 1, the first mile of Veo e-scooter and bike rides is automatically free for users who end their rides at RTD’s University of Denver or Knox stations. The “First Mile Free” pilot program will last two years and is expected to subsidize more than 40,000 trips.
The program is funded through a $122,554 grant from RTD and over $65,000 from Veo via a cash match and discounted rides, according to organizers.
