EDMOND − Edmond City Council slammed the brakes on plans for a Brakes Plus location, denying the developer’s site plan, final plat, and request for a zoning change in a matter of minutes.
The repair shop would have gone at the southern end of a line of a variety of businesses on the west side of North Santa Fe Avenue south of Danforth Road. Residents of the adjoining neighborhood, The Orchards at the Trails, persuaded the council to bring the plans to a halt on Monday, Sept. 28.
