107 potential jurors questioned in Rodney Hinton Jr. case

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Jury selection began today in the trial of Rodney Hinton Jr., who is accused of killing retired Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy Larry Henderson on May 2, 2025. Hinton has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Hinton faces one count of murder, two counts of aggravated murder and two counts of felonious assault in Henderson’s death.

Jurors face lengthy questionnaire

Potential jurors had to work through a 139-question questionnaire. The process was made longer and more intense by the case’s heavy focus on policing and mental health.

Attorneys started with 107 potential jurors today. Several were dismissed within hours for misconduct or personal bias. Attorneys say it’s harder to find a truly impartial jury given the amount of news coverage already out there.
