Police say second suspect sought in Kalamazoo homicide tied to retaliation killing

The investigation into the killing of Latraysa Brown remains active, with Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) investigators now confirming they are working to identify a second suspect connected to her homicide.

Brown, 49, was killed inside her Kalamazoo home on Reed Street early Sept. 27. The next night, 18-year-old Amaure’ Dora-Lee Lynniah Harris was killed at Fox Ridge Apartments.

A few days later on Sept. 30, police arrested 18-year-old Cedric Gunn in connection to the 49-year-old mother’s death, and the on the same day, arrested her 20-year-old son Markeet Primer Jr. in connection to 18-year-old Harris’ death.

Court records say the two 18-year-olds, Harris and Gunn, were best friend, and that Brown’s son Primer allegedly said he intended to kill Harris in retaliation for his mother’s death…
