Temperatures are heating up, and the wildfire danger is sticking around as the week ahead looks dry as a bone. While this forecast doesn’t sound any different than the last couple of months in Arkansas, there’s a sliver of moisture possible this weekend. A system in the southwestern Gulf could possibly send moisture to Arkansas, but emphasis on the word possibly.
Overnights this week will remain cool to mild. A few communities have already reached the 40s for lows Monday morning, October 5, and there are a few more opportunities for usual cold spots and far northern Arkansas to dip into the 40s in the mornings this week.
Afternoons, though, may be flirting with the low 90s in central Arkansas by late-week.
There’s no rain in the forecast through at least Friday, October 9. The wildfire danger remains high.
The pollen counts are high, too. Those with fall allergies will continue to feel the symptoms as high concentrations of ragweed and grass spores remain in the air.
This weekend, a very small shower chance has been added. This comes as a potential tropical system is forming in the southwestern Gulf and the Bay of Campeche. As of Monday afternoon, October 5, there’s a high chance that an area of low pressure forms into a tropical depression by midweek.
This low is expected to drift easterly, and then northerly late in the week…
