Two people have died after separate traffic collisions in San Jose — a motorcyclist who was struck Sunday and a pedestrian who died after a driver hit him nearly three weeks ago, police said Monday.The motorcyclist was riding west on McKean Road through the intersection with Almaden Road at about 11:48 a.m. Sunday when he collided with a Toyota RAV4 going north, according to a preliminary investigation by the San Jose Police Department. The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital, where he died. The Toyota driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors.In a separate case, a pedestrian died Oct. 2 from injuries he suffered when he was struck by a car on South King Road near Biscayne Way on Sept. 13. Police said the man was crossing eastbound outside a marked crosswalk when the driver of a 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan going north hit him at about 7:48 p.m.
The driver stayed at the scene, called 911 and cooperated with investigators. Police said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors.
The fatalities were San Jose’s 38th and 39th traffic-related deaths of 2026. The Santa Clara medical examiner’s office will release the identities of both men after notifying their families…
