North Texas nonprofit helps veterans find jobs, offers lifelong mentorship

Rickey Sanchez remembers the challenges he faced in 2021 trying to find a job before his 20-year service in the Army came to a close.

The first sergeant in the recruiting command wanted to participate in U.S. Army programs that helped soldiers with professional development and transitioning from the military to civilian life. However, Sanchez was a top performer in his command and only had about a six-month window to prepare.

“I wasn’t afforded that opportunity because they wanted to keep me on numbers, and so I always heard that you want to start transitioning two years before you exit,” Sanchez said…
