Jackson man sentenced to 30 years for killing man who intervened to protect woman

HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) – A man will serve 30 years for the 2023 shooting death of a man at a Jackson gas station.

Darrell Stewart, 56, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the shooting death of Christopher Goolsby, Hinds County District Attorney Brad McCullouch announced.

Hinds County Circuit Court Judge Faye Peterson sentenced Stewart to 30 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

What happened
