Family culture has top 100 WR Malachi Lee excited to play in 2027 adidas Polynesian Bowl

The meaning of the adidas Polynesian Bowl is special for 2028 Top247 wide receiver Malachi Lee. His mother, who was born in New Zealand, is Polynesian. So, when the invitation to play in the January game was extended, there was more meaning behind Lee’s decision to play in the game than heading to Honolulu to participate in a marquee all-star game.

“My mom’s side is Polynesian Bowl, so it’s kind of a personal thing for me,” said Lee, who plays at Leesburg (Va.) Loudoun Sports Academy. “They’re really strong about their Polynesian culture so it’s kind of heart-warming to play in such a game.”
