PENFIELD, N.Y. — A Penfield man pleaded not guilty to the murder of his mother at his arraignment in Monroe County Court on Wednesday morning.
Joseph Petrella, 39, is accused of killing his mother in mid-September at the mobile home on Ewald Drive in Penfield that they shared. Monroe County sheriff’s deputies say he stabbed Amy Hogan, 60, multiple times, then tried to hide her body. He’s charged with second-degree murder, burglary, and petit larceny.
In court, the judge accepted the prosecution’s request to issue two orders of protection prohibiting Petrella from contacting two neighbors. The prosecution said those orders were in relation to the burglary charge. Petrella is still being held on no bail and no release…
