CCSF Chancellor Kimberlee Messina placed on leave pending investigation

City College of San Francisco Chancellor Kimberlee Messina was placed on paid administrative leave while an independent investigator reviews allegations of financial impropriety raised about her, the school’s board of trustees said Tuesday.

In a campus-wide email, the trustees gave no details about the investigation, but the Chronicle reported Wednesday that it was prompted by a complaint from Messina’s executive assistant, who on Sept. 4 sent the trustees a list of allegations about her boss.

Board President Aliya Chista responded in a Sept. 11 letter to the assistant, Mary Grace Esteban, that Messina was being investigated about allegations she had padded her $350,000 salary with unapproved stipends, cash and vacation days, and engaged in other improper accounting of college district funds…
