Judge Releases Repeat Felon from Myers Flat Drug Raid Over DA’s Objection

A Humboldt County judge on Tuesday released an Antioch man arrested in a Myers Flat drug and gun raid, over the objection of the District Attorney’s Office, even though he was already out on bail in two other felony cases.

William Lavon Pree, 45, was released from the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on supervised release with continuous electronic monitoring, according to Humboldt County District Attorney Stacey Eads and a court order signed by Judge Kelly L. Neel.

Prosecutors had asked the judge to keep Pree in jail without bail. Eads said the office objected to his release based on public safety concerns stemming from his new charges, his serious and violent criminal history, and the fact that he was out on bail on similar crimes when he was arrested again…
