Water utility issues boil advisory for Princeton Road customers following main break

SHREVEPORT, La. — Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 1 issued a precautionary boil advisory for Village Water System customers following a water main break beneath a railroad crossing on Princeton Road.

Crews isolated the damaged area and replaced the failed 2-inch line with a new 4-inch main, successfully restoring water service. Water samples were collected and sent to the Louisiana Department of Health laboratory in Shreveport for testing to ensure safety.

Until further notice, affected customers must bring all water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing fruits and vegetables. Residents may also use bottled water as an alternative…
