A Summerfield man and a Belleview woman were arrested on drug charges after a K-9 alerted on their vehicle during a traffic stop at a McDonald’s in Wildwood.
Michael Thomas Taylor, 43, of Summerfield, was driving a white 2007 Acura TL at about 5 p.m. Wednesday when he failed to stop before entering the roadway while leaving the Red Roof Inn on State Road 44, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy initiated a traffic stop at the nearby McDonald’s at State Road 44 and Interstate 75.
During the stop, the deputy noted that Taylor was displaying nervous behavior, speaking softly, and failing to make eye contact. A K-9 unit was summoned to the scene and the dog alerted on the vehicle, indicating the likely presence of drugs…
