Northern Minnesota Weather Alert: Strong Winds Raise Wildfire Risk Oct 10th

Duluth, MN – An unusually warm October weekend is bringing increased fire weather concerns to northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin, with temperatures climbing into the 80s and gusty southerly winds creating conditions that could allow outdoor fires to spread rapidly Saturday, October 10.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Duluth, near-critical fire weather conditions are expected from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday as strong winds combine with relatively low humidity across the region.
