Man accused of fighting deputies after foot chase in northwest Columbia appears in bond co

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — A man accused of fighting deputies in northwest Columbia appeared in bond court Saturday after authorities said he ran from deputies, resisted arrest and was found with a firearm.

Walter Halley was arrested following an incident that began Friday morning near Zimalcrest Drive, according to authorities.

Deputies said they spotted Halley wearing a ski mask and tried to make contact, but he ran. After a brief foot pursuit, deputies caught him, but authorities said he fought back…
