FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Before most of the ballots are cast, candidates up for two seats on the Fort Wayne Community Schools Board of Trustees took the microphone at the Allen County Public Library’s Main Branch for a public forum Saturday morning.
The Indiana Coalition for Public Education Northeast sponsored the event. Questions were released ahead of time to candidates, and they had 30 seconds or a full minute to respond, depending on the question.
Out of eight candidates who are running for District 1 or the At-Large seat, six attended Saturday’s event. Joe Jordan, a non-partisan candidate and current President & CEO of Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne, as well as Matthew Crummey with the American Solidarity Party, were not present. They are both vying to be an at-large trustee.
