Clocked At 90 MPH, Caught With Fake Xanax: Hillsborough County Traffic Stop Yields Homemade Fentanyl Stash

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A late-night speeding stop on North U.S. Highway 301 led Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputies to uncover homemade fentanyl pills pressed to look like prescription medications, officials reported.

Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a vehicle traveling 90 mph in a 50 mph zone at around 11:30 p.m. on October 8, 2026.
