Heat surges before rain, storms and a sharp cooldown

CENTRAL ILLINOIS (25News Now) – Central Illinois is expected to stay mostly dry through the weekend before temperatures climb into the upper 80s early next week. The summer-like warmth won’t last long, though, as a cold front could bring periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms before much colder air arrives by next weekend.
