CONYERS — Rockdale County voters will decide in November whether to add a new 1% sales tax intended exclusively to reduce property taxes collected by the county and the city of Conyers.
The Floating Local Option Sales Tax, or FLOST, will appear as a local referendum on the Nov. 3 General and Special Election ballot. The proposal calls for imposing the one percent sales and use tax throughout Rockdale County for five years.
The ballot asks voters whether to impose the tax “with the proceeds used exclusively to reduce property taxes imposed by Rockdale County and the City of Conyers.” A “yes” vote supports imposing the tax, while a “no” vote opposes it…
