New Indoor Play Cafe in Hoover Features a 40-Ton Sensory Sandbox

Did you know Central Alabama’s largest indoor sandbox just opened at Legacy Parc at Riverchase? The Diggin’ Depot Play Cafe is an indoor sensory play haven designed for children ages one to seven. The cafe has 40 tons of Baha Play Sand, with lots of fun sand toys and vehicles for kids to enjoy. “From construction vehicles to interactive play zones, we offer endless opportunities for exploration and learning,” their website explains. “Kids can dig, scoop, pour, build, and practice motor skills in a safe space that keeps play messy and imaginative.”

(Plus, it’s a nut-free facility, perfect for kiddos with allergies!) Feel free to snag a drink from the cafe and chat with a friend in the seats by the sandbox while your littles have fun.

They’re open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m, and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m., with private parties available after 3 p.m. While older kids are allowed to assist younger siblings as space allows, the sandbox is specifically designed for those under age eight. If your kiddo isn’t quite potty trained, be sure they’re wearing a diaper or pull-up. With each play pass, your child gets up to 90 minutes of playtime, access to over 100 toys, and more…
