After years of back and forth over the property at the end of First Avenue, demolition on the “hazardous” home began Thursday afternoon. The next of kin of the property owners will be billed for the $44,000 demolition, Faribault Fire Chief Dusty Dienst said.
“This one is years in the making. Years and years of neglect. A lack of maintenance over time catches up with any building, and that’s the case here,” Dienst said. “This one was abandoned at least so it wasn’t as touchy as ones where there’s people still living in them.”…
